Sophia GED collaborated with the pharmacy faculty at Mahidol University to host 9 students, accompanied by Prof. Eri Nakamura from Chiba University, who visited Thailand for 10 days from March 9th to March 19th, 2024.

In this program, pharmacy students from Chiba University participated as exchange students for 4 days with Mahidol University’s Faculty of Pharmacy. They also had the opportunity to enjoy exploring Thailand, including Bangkok and the Ayutthaya area.
Beginning with an exploration of Bangkok, students had the opportunity to immerse themselves in Thailand’s public transportation, culture, and Buddhism by visiting Wat Arun (Arun Temple), one of the country’s renowned temples. Additionally, the students gained insights into social issues in Thailand by participating in a lecture and facility tour at the Sikkha Asia Foundation in the Klong Toey community area.

Moreover, they could visit medical facilities such as pharmacies and hospitals to see the overall image of the Thai medical field. Furthermore, they experienced Thai culture firsthand at “Jodd Fair DanNeramit,” one of the popular night markets, where they sampled street food and embraced the vibrant atmosphere.

Then starting a 4-day class study program with Mahidol University’s faculty of pharmacy at the Phayathai campus. Students could deepen their understanding by learning about medical topics such as the pharmacy system differences between Thailand and Japan, drug management at hospital and community levels, Nanotheranostic in Cancer Treatment, Thailand’s Pharmacy Education System, etc.

The students also had a chance to visit and have a conference at Mahidol University, faculty of engineering at Salaya campus, about medical technology and innovation.

Lastly, we visited Ayutthaya, where students can learn about history, Buddhism, and traditional culture. We went to popular temples like Wat Yai Chai-mongkol and Wat Mahathat. Also, students got the opportunity to ride an elephant, which has long been an important animal in Thailand.

Sophia GED is delighted to extend a warm welcome to students in Thailand, where they not only enrich their cultural experiences but also enhance their academic knowledge. We appreciate you for creating wonderful memories with us!
